mossa shows up with his third release on mos ferry prod. and he demonstrates again that his productions shouldnt be missing in any record case. the title and a1 track ransack holds some solid subs, a nice and kinky drum kit including a petit but also significant drive. right next to it comes the ransack remix by andomat 3000 that pushes the whole theme more towards a swinging and rocking house tune. on the flip dark love reveals - as the name implies - a dark & noisy track topped with a sonorous vocal that shouldnt be ignored. with toms and hats from the music electronics supply store b2 make the noise is an excellent example for controlled rhythm & sound that puts a perfect finishing touch to this release. we love to say: make the noise, please make the noise!

ahmed fakroun a singer/songwriter from libya is widely considered the foremost pioneer of modern arabic world music. his 1977 hit misyan has been recently edited and its production shows how ahead of his time he was. ahmed, a fan of claremont, teams up with mudd to create a bohannon style groove that will give you neck ache from head nodding. beautiful cellos from robin faze action slide in and out and a warm rhodes vamp keeps pushing it towards the next part in the journey. brennan green takes the remix duty and adds another classic remix to claremonts collection. this is something special.

having successfully launched with a home grown 80s infused release by belgiums polefolder, faith music continue with their allegiance towards heavy bodied electronic house. its fair to say thats or many years, germanys oliver moldan has been spreading his gospel globally, exercising the intricate tribal beats and exposing his musical direction through labels including bedrock, audiotherapy & global underground.

part 1 of the new double-release from tiefschwarz aims at the heart of house music: soul. “on&on” is a first-class arranged club track. starting off with a wonderful mellow theme, that is adumbrated by the bass line in an one-and-a-half minute long exposition. the track ups the tempo with an additional hi-hat resolving into a shuffle beat. in double time, we move on towards the first break. here an edgy, minor key-chord sequence is introduced, making it obvious for everyone, that this track is gonna take off. eventually the keys function as a counterpoint to the classic bass line. a four-to-the-floor “on&on” vocal sample takes over after the break, adding another percussive aspect. as the track goes on a mulitiplicity of side elements sets in - no room for tediousness! in the end the “on&on” vocals resolve into “it’s so simple… . who knows, but this could be a broad hint to all the tech-house academics out there. no matter what, this grande finale raises a smile from every last sweaty soul on the dancefloor. with “best inn” on the b-side tiefschwarz create a dance classic, dressed in 2009 fashion. reminiscent of long gone nu-groove times, a traditional house beat - including a tiny off-beat tinker bell - blasts out of the speakers. a slured synth-organ provides the track with that certain edgyness. here, the brothers keep it laid-back yet exciting at the same time. this piece goes on and on and on - and you yourself run alongside, not wanting to pause. but watch out! at the latest in the second break, tiefschwarz put nostalgia to the test via some shockingly muffled metal drums. one of these moments, where you wish yourself back into the middle of an eight-hour deep-house set in 1992. the train departs. one thrillingly beautiful landscape after another runs by, until the warm sun strokes of the south suddenly rouse you out of slumber. arrived

its been a while since the last release by mark august on connaisseur, but now hes back with an extraordinary one. two tracks, both like a fairytale of a country far, far away. a fable, with mystic and mysterious animals and creatures, might best describe what mark had in mind while working on the tracks. the wasps from tunisia and the silver piggy – the main track on this release is an uncommon piece of music. it starts moody and with a stoic pumping beat, yet also a somehow laidback feeling. it then unexpectedly and surprisingly builds up to a monster of a track, working manically towards its climax. then however, over the length of the track, it completely transforms again, coming back to its beginning, as though nothing had ever happened. scorpions groove is a deep and dubby affaire.

incl rene breitbarth rmx! dubby touched electronic vinyl ep! bicoma, a band formed in 2007 by its components aless and medu (malaga/jaen-spain), part of the toys community (marbella). influenced by the most avantgarded sounds and experimental electronica but always focusing their style towards the dancefloor.

moody moon e.p ( spagh records) spagh records is an electronic music label which concentrates its energy on techno, house and electro. created in 2005, spagh records wants to follow the way of authenticity and eclectism. after being well received by the public, the first e.p “dozen lives” was notably playlisted by artists such as dave clarke, laurent garnier, dj 3000 and james penninghton. the label spagh records is now releasing its second ep. in this second publication, the label shows another facet of their style angling towards deep techno. the ep, aptly titled “moody moon” and produced by hip-j, is a surprising and bewitching creation that draws the listener in for an aural expedition with every play, plunging to the heart of techno, weird and hazy, as melodic as it is stirring. his latest e.p has already received good feedbacks and is now being played by dj chloé (kill the dj) and toni vokado (electric avenue, kodiara records).
